Of Ducks, Dogs and Thrones

Your daybreak became a game of thrones

While mine was duck and dog

And the twain did meet

As we reflected on our days.

How to distill the moment

When the pond unfolded

A symmetry of buoyant cheer

Ten bobbing ducks all in a row

A dog fast asleep on his owner’s tum

All oblivious to the passing show.

Thus touched in our different ways

No story alone or solely owned

These recollections are yours,

Mine, a daughter, a mum

A convergence of us, ducks,

Dogs and the ubiquitous G of Thrones.
