Rose, Moon and Lorikeet

All day, walking from the talking

Running from the planning

The thinking in task-steps

The endless paper-people

That forget we are human,

My rose

Thought stayed hidden

Under the belly of a morning moon

A gentle flush

Of pale shyness caught by

The wink of sunlight’s flirt

To emerge again late afternoon

With a visitor, lorikeet

Who peered in long enough for a chat

Transforming slog

Into the comfort of an hour’s

Infinity, though moon was long gone.
