Rain Whisper

Night settled into slumber

windows closed against dark.

 

A midnight garden moment

of a sinking moon, a rustle

 

dropping in, clinking against

the dry. Starting, I listened

 

to the shuffle of leaf as rain

whispered

 

and was gone.
