Cypress XVI

A cypress moon appears again

framed to perfection. The gentle

swaying trees dormant now,

greying, as if age distilled

all strength against pneumatic

drills. Pin needles yellowing,

I count again, to make sure.

Here I record sturdy shapes

in tact, harmless old souls.
