in trees;

those planted

and those removed,

their absence

met with silence,




Plant time in.

This time

an olive tree

sturdy in sun,

the lemon and peach

almost hedging

and hours

where the only sounds

were the wings

of the currawong

in a darkening sky

below which earthlings;


and possibility

like sense and sensibility and

random acts of kindness;


took the hues of grace and graced

the sky with domes of colour

far from graceless words;


spent time, a small passing,

caring. And spring, once paused
